My counseling background includes twelve years spent in the office of Robert L. Moore, Ed. D. and Associates in Columbia, TN., where I received my licensure in February, 2002. While there I completed a Masters of Arts in Psychology/Counseling from Liberty University (1996). My experience included counseling with individuals, children, adolescents, groups, families, couples, adults (to 65). I specialized in treating Adolescents and Adults in substance abuse (acquiring some 3000 hours toward certification). I also worked with Parents of children and adolescents who had Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/Attention Deficit Disorder, and/or Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Conduct Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Therapy used included Parenting Skills, Cognitive Therapy, Coping Skills, Anger Management! Conflict Resolution, Study Skills, Self-monitoring, Depression, Grief issues, and Relaxation Techniques. I have done work also with Generalized Anxiety, Specific Phobias, and in the school setting, I have experience with Asperger's Disorder, Autism and Selective Mutism. My recent study has been in Sexual Addiction (will work toward a Certification in this area also). I was trained to be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and to use spiritual counseling as desired by each individual client. I consider each client to be unique individuals with their own views, strengths and needs. Each treatment plan is designed with these concepts in mind, and each treatment seeks to produce the best possible results for that client. The goal is to prepare the client to take charge of their own plan and to achieve success/improvement based on how involved they become in their treatment plan. |
